The Leaf House Book Get-Together

What a great time spent in Fond du Lac this past week! There was hardly a minute to spare, chock full of fun times. The visit began with lunch with the Official Busy Bees, Jane, Joyce, Carol, Margaret and my sister Pat at Friar Tuck's for lunch.

The official Leaf House Book get-together was held on Thursday afternoon at The Oar House from 2:00 until 7:00 pm. Great to see everyone, every picture shows what a good time we were having, lots of laughs, shared photos and memories. We were happy to see such a good turnout, lots of St. Patrick's “kids”, Bischoff Street neighbors, and friends showed up despite a really awful day of cold, windy and rainy weather. It seemed more like February than October!

An outrageous surprise was a quilt wall hanging of the Leaf House with great photos done by my multi-talented, long-time friend Mary Beth (Shephard) Dullinger. To make for special memories, guests at the party signed the back of the quilt.

Friday morning was the first sunny day, and although the temperature was in the 40's I went for a walk in the beautiful Lakeside Park and enjoyed the wonderful crisp Fall day. Friday night Mike & Joe Seibel and I went on the Galloway Haunted House tour. They did a fabulous job, a few heart-stopping moments, but we really enjoyed it.

We had one last party time at Irish's Bar with lots of hugs good-bye. Thanks to Joe for hosting that party, and it was so good to have Amy & Jim stop by to squeeze in a quick visit.

Off to the airport in Milwaukee, met up with Merle for lunch and truthfully, we could have sat and talked all afternoon if there wasn't a plane to catch.
